Sultanate, Zanzibar review bilateral relations
MUSCAT — On behalf of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, received here yesterday Saif Shareef Hammad, First Vice-President of Zanzibar. The guest conveyed the greetings and best wishes of President Dr Ali Mohammed Sheen of Zanzibar and his government to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos and the Omani government and people.
The meeting reviewed bilateral relations and touched on various aspects of co-operation and developments in the African arena. The guest expressed the greetings of Zanzibar to the Sultanate on the occasion of the 40th National Day. He said he was delighted to visit and have a close look at its progress led by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos. He pointed out that his country appreciates the Sultanate's policy and its pioneering role in all areas.
“Zanzibar looks forward to enhancing economic, commercial, educational and cultural co-operation with the Sultanate”, said the guest. The meeting was attended by State Adviser Shaikh Abdullah bin Ali al Qatabi and Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Secretary- General of the Foreign Ministry. — ONA
