Dr Shein to mark 100 days in office with rally

Zanzibar President Dr Ali Mohamed Shein is expected to address a public rally at Kibanda Maiti grounds tomorrow, slightly 100 days after assuming leadership of the archipelago in November, last year.

CCM regional secretary for Unguja-West, Ramadhani Abdalla Ali, said the meeting would be preceded by celebrations to commemorate the victory Dr Shein got during last year’s presidential elections.

He said CCM members in the region had prepared the cerebrations to highlight the ruling party’s victory in the presidential race and in the legislative assembly, where it obtained 28 seats in Unguja.

Ali said during the cerebrations, CCM members would conduct special procession to be seconded by motorcycles in all constituencies for four days.

“These processions will carry special message to encourage members of the party to be prepared for internal party election scheduled to be held next year,” he said.

The ruling party provincial secretary said that the events also aims to inform its members on how best they could implement CCM’s five-year election manifesto, through which electorates voted them in last year.

He urged members of the party to come out in big numbers and participate in the planned procession and public rally, where messages about the political situation in Zanzibar and development of the economy would be aired and discussed.
